Doing your homework before writing a protocol and statistical analysis plan for either a clinical trial or a real world evidence study can facilitate the process, reduce costs, and produce more accurate and reliable study results. This approach may also be used to apply for grants showing the methodology and justification for proposed projects.
There are many publicly available datasets that can be utilized for a feasibility study. In this hands-on workshop we will discuss possible sources of data and use public data to demonstrate the process, starting with data set selection, variable selection, building of an analytic file, and subsequent input for a well-designed compelling outcome. In these case studies we will explore what factors are most important. We will also discuss inclusion/exclusion criteria and how they will affect the cost and generalizability of the results of the study.
After this workshop students will understand what to look for in a dataset for a feasibility study, and how to create an analytic dataset and produce easily understandable results. |
