Abstract:
Effective industry specific data analysis and reporting requires business intelligence and extended technical capabilities. TEC Associates has developed a reporting product family called The Smart Reporter. The first product is The Smart Courier for health
care industry. The Windows interface is very intuitive; allowing non-computer professionals to easily analyze data and generate reports. The Smart Courier contains healthcare business intelligence such as claim adjustment logic, continuous enrollment, and
member months. It contains healthcare specific reports such as Fraud and Abuse, Hedis, Provider Profiling, and Actuarial renewal rating. It also contains complex data handling logic that can combine multiple claim types such as inpatient, outpatient, non-i
nstitutional, and drug from varied data sources with disparate data. In addition, The Smart Courier offers data protection to insure data is handled correctly and reports contain valid information. Users can run reports that are provided with the product a
s well as incorporate their own existing reports. Output can be pdf, text, excel, sas, rtf, and html. Future development will extend to other industries, provide additional industry specific reports, and web deployment. SAS products used include Base SAS,
SAS/AF, and SAS/GRAPH.
Biography:
Diane is the president of TEC Associates, a SAS Alliance Partner firm based in Indianapolis. TEC Associates’ seven SAS developers specialize in information delivery including data warehousing, decision support, reporting and analysis, and web deployment. T
heir primary industry focus is health care, but they are also experienced in manufacturing, telecommunication, and human resources.
Diane has 20 years experience with SAS software and is a published author with McGraw-Hill. She holds a BS in mathematics an
d an MA in statistics from Ball State University.
