Abstract:
Over the years of (ab)using the DO statement, I believe I've accumulated a slew of trivial and non-trivial techniques revealing the true nature of this incarnation, both in terms of programming efficiency and computer performance.
Biography:
Paul Dorfman has a Ph.D. in Physics. He started using SAS in computational plasma electronics. Afterwards, he used it in a number of industries, such as telecommunications, credit card, pharmaceuticals, and managed health care. Paul specializes in high-per
formance SAS implementations of general programming algorithms, such as sorting and searching. He admits to having used computer tongues other than SAS, notably Algol-60, PL/I, Fortran, Cobol, C.
